The Dental Assistant — Correctional Healthcare (PRN) role is onsite at the Washoe County Jail in Reno, NV. Compensation is $20.90–$22.00 per hour. The assistant works with a dentist, healthcare team, and correctional staff to provide dental care to patients. The role supports clinical care by preparing patients and instruments, assisting during procedures, maintaining a clean and stocked dental suite, and helping with records and patient education. It also contributes to dental sick-call, triage, scheduling, and X-ray services as needed.

What you'll do

• Assist the dentist with patient care, procedures, instruments, supplies, and documentation
• prepare patients and assist during treatment
• sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• keep the dental suite clean, organized, and stocked
• assist with sick-call requests, triage, scheduling, and patient records
• educate patients about procedures and oral hygiene
• take and develop X-rays
• assist with laboratory and administrative duties as needed.
