Shift Lead — Free Meals Program

Job overview

The Shift Lead role is onsite in San Francisco, CA, with compensation of $28–$30 per hour. GLIDE is a social justice organization providing integrated services and working to address poverty, housing insecurity, and marginalization. The shift lead facilitates meal-period operations across the dining room, kitchen, and coffeehouse. By coordinating staff and volunteers, preparing and serving meals, and maintaining food safety and sanitation, the role supports the Free Meals Program’s service to the community.

What you'll do

• Direct staff, interns, volunteers, and community service workers during meal service
• assign duties and workstations
• support kitchen, dining room, and coffeehouse operations
• prepare meals and check portions
• ensure areas are clean and ready for the next meal
• follow cleaning and sanitation schedules
• support personnel issue resolution
• assist with administrative tasks
• ensure food safety and sanitation.

Why this role
