What you'll do

  • Restrain animals
  • draw blood and place jugular and femoral catheters
  • handle specimens and perform laboratory procedures
  • use radiographic techniques
  • administer intravenous drugs and anesthetic agents
  • monitor patients and identify emergencies
  • maintain aseptic technique and sterilize surgical instruments
  • assist in surgery at the veterinarian’s discretion
  • maintain clinical areas and inventory
  • record controlled drugs
  • communicate with and educate clients
  • use veterinary software.

Why this role

New York State license is required, with eligibility for licensing accepted; anesthesia experience is required. Dermatology interest or experience is preferred. Sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is based on experience as a credentialed veterinary technician.
