The Millwright role is an onsite, full-time position in Shreveport, LA. Pay is $25 to $35 per hour. The role supports Plain Dealing Lumber’s sawmill and planer operations by maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. The millwright installs, aligns, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs production equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and keep operations safe and efficient. The role works with maintenance and production personnel to complete preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.

What you'll do

• Install, align, and level industrial machinery including conveyors, saws, chippers, planers, motors, and gearboxes
• diagnose and repair production equipment
• perform scheduled preventive maintenance
• interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• fabricate or modify parts using shop tools and welding, cutting, drilling, and grinding
• repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• align and balance rotating equipment
• respond to breakdowns and emergency repair calls
• maintain maintenance records
• coordinate maintenance scheduling
• requisition parts
• follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures
• assist and mentor less experienced technicians.
