Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets and CAPEX

The Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets and CAPEX role is hybrid, with in-office work Tuesdays and Thursdays in San Rafael, CA; compensation is $60–$65 per hour. The role partners with project teams, budget owners, FP&A, audit, and other business functions. The accountant owns fixed-asset accounting and supports selected OPEX accounting, monthly close, and related controls. The work helps ensure accurate financial reporting, timely project accounting, audit readiness, and clear communication of accounting requirements and conclusions across departments.

What you'll do

• Manage fixed-asset additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and depreciation
• maintain the fixed-asset subledger and reconcile it to the general ledger
• perform monthly close entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and variance analysis
• review asset classifications under US GAAP and company policy
• support audits
• monitor capital project spend and asset-under-construction balances
• assist with depreciation and CAPEX forecasting
• review OPEX purchase orders and accruals
• investigate budget variances
• support SOX documentation, testing, and remediation
• and identify process improvements.
