The Substitute Childcare Teacher role is onsite in Novato, CA, with pay of $24.70–$26.51 per hour, depending on language qualifications: English-only roles pay $24.70–$25.94 per hour, and English/Spanish bilingual roles pay $25.25–$26.51 per hour. North Marin Community Services provides community programs and resources to youth, adults, and families. The substitute supports children’s development in early childhood education and before- or after-school settings. By assisting teachers with routines, activities, supervision, and positive behavior guidance, the role helps maintain a safe, supportive, and culturally affirming environment for children ages 2–14.

What you'll do

• Support supervision of groups of children and implement planned activities or curricula
• help maintain adult-to-child ratios
• support a positive, culturally affirming classroom climate
• transport children in an NMCS nine-passenger van from NUSD schools to NMCS and on field trips
• maintain a safe environment during transportation
• use age-appropriate behavior guidance
• follow agency policies and procedures
• maintain CPR and First Aid certification or complete training.

Why this role

Hours and shifts vary between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. CPR and First Aid training can be completed upon hire.
