Geotechnical Field Technician — Piezometer Installation

Job overview

The Geotechnical Field Technician role is based in Tucson, AZ, with fieldwork at mine sites, mostly in Arizona and the western United States. Compensation is $25–$30 per hour. Call & Nicholas is an employee-owned geotechnical engineering firm providing consulting services to mining clients.

What you'll do

• Travel to mine sites and work with drill crews to install vibrating-wire piezometers, TDR cable, and other geotechnical and hydrogeology instruments
• perform site characterization, drillhole stability assessment, mapping, and core logging
• collect and process data
• prepare technical documentation and reports
• communicate procedures and resolve problems with clients and drillers
• maintain DOT driving and project labor records.
