Job overview

The Senior Propulsion Test Responsible Engineer role is full-time onsite in Long Beach, CA, with an average of 25% travel to test and launch sites. Compensation is $132,000–$198,000 per year. Relativity Space is developing the Terran R rocket, and this role supports the Engine Systems & Test Team. The engineer owns propulsion test articles and test campaigns, helping evaluate and qualify engine designs for development and flight. The work may also include engine systems analysis, troubleshooting, simulation, and projects that improve team efficiency; occasional weekend work may be needed for critical milestones, and rotating first- and second-shift schedules are required.

What you'll do

  • Develop test plans with product owners and execute test campaigns with the Stennis team
  • own exploratory operation and evaluation of test article designs
  • write test sequences, review data, work hands-on with test articles, write code, operate the console during hotfire tests, and design tooling as needed
  • support engine subsystem troubleshooting, investigations, analysis, simulation, and trade studies
  • take ownership of efficiency-improvement projects.
