The Principal Software Engineer role is onsite in Seattle, WA and San Jose, CA; compensation is $220,000–$250,000 per year. Extreme Networks develops cloud-driven networking solutions used by more than 50,000 customers globally. The engineer leads development of scalable, secure platforms and services that process network and operational data and power intelligent networking and AI experiences. The role contributes technical leadership across distributed systems, real-time analytics, and intelligent automation for existing and new products.

What you'll do

• Lead development of core platforms and services for networking, agentic AI, distributed data processing, real-time analytics, and intelligent automation
• design scalable, secure, reliable systems
• contribute across architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and production operations
• mentor engineers and lead technical work
• translate complex technical problems into production-ready solutions.
