Facilities Assistant

Job overview

The Facilities Assistant role is onsite in Richmond, VA, at CARITAS facilities. Pay is $18 per hour. The work supports CARITAS’s mission of helping people find a safe place to heal and rebuild their lives. The assistant performs routine maintenance, repairs, and grounds upkeep so facilities remain safe, clean, welcoming, and ready to serve the community. The role works with the Facilities Manager, staff, contractors, volunteers, and program participants to keep operations running smoothly.

What you'll do

• Help with basic repairs and maintenance involving drywall, painting, plumbing, lighting, doors, fixtures, and other building components
• complete preventive maintenance and respond to service requests
• maintain grounds, entryways, and exterior areas
• identify and report hazards and repair needs
• move furniture and equipment, unload supplies, and prepare spaces for programs and activities.
