Product Designer, Search (Hybrid)

The Product Designer, Search role is hybrid in San Francisco, CA, with an annual salary range of $175,000–$190,000. Nextdoor is rebuilding Search to help neighbors find relevant local information and connections across its neighborhood network. This designer will establish Search design principles and patterns and shape the experience across query entry, typeahead, results, filters, and sponsored placements. The role partners with product, data science, machine learning, and research teams to make search useful and trustworthy while supporting local-business discovery.

What you'll do

• Establish design principles, patterns, and components for Search
• design the full search journey from entry and typeahead through results, filters, and page layout
• create purpose-built experiences for posts, people, places, and answers
• partner with data science, machine learning engineering, and research on ranking and query understanding
• define how sponsored and organic results coexist
• prototype and develop experiment hypotheses with product and data partners.
