The machinist operates manual equipment for production, repairs, and custom builds, contributing close-tolerance machining and mechanical repair work for industrial customers. The role includes diagnosing assemblies, machining replacement parts, and returning equipment to specification.

What you'll do

• Operate manual lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, a bore mill, and a hydraulic press
• support CNC operations with secondary manual work as needed
• disassemble and diagnose gearboxes and other industrial assemblies
• machine replacement parts and reassemble to specification
• straighten shafts and structural parts
• read blueprints and select feeds and speeds to hold tolerances.
