The Executive Director position is onsite in Birmingham, AL, with regular on-site presence and evening and weekend work for events, broadcasts, and donor functions. The salary range is $58,000–$65,000 per year. The Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame preserves, promotes, and celebrates Alabama’s jazz heritage through programs, exhibits, education, and community engagement. Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Board Chair, the Executive Director provides strategic, operational, financial, and fundraising leadership. The role advances the organization’s mission by building donor and community relationships, overseeing staff and operations, and supporting programming, exhibits, education initiatives, the WAJH radio station, and the Carver Theatre.

What you'll do

• Lead strategic priorities with the Board
• serve as lead fundraiser and oversee grants, donor relations, sponsorships, and fundraising campaigns
• manage budgets, financial reporting, audits, compliance, and administrative systems
• supervise the Radio Station Director and oversee WAJH operations and FCC compliance
• oversee Carver Theatre operations, programs, exhibits, collections, staff, and community relations.
