The Driver role is onsite in San Diego, CA, with pay of $20–$23 per hour. The position is part of the GPD Program at Veterans Village of San Diego, an agency serving clients who need transportation support. The driver transports clients safely and on time to meetings, seminars, and appointments, and handles agency pickups and deliveries as needed. The role also supports vehicle upkeep and documents incidents to help maintain safe, reliable transportation for clients and agency operations.

What you'll do

• Transport clients to and from meetings, seminars, and appointments
• ensure timely pickup and safe arrival
• obey traffic laws and drive defensively
• keep vehicles clean
• assist with checking fuel and oil and wash vehicles as recommended
• report vehicle wear, damage, and incidents
• ensure passengers use safety restraints
• attend assigned training
• document incidents by camera or in writing
• use vehicles only for agency business.

Why this role

Requires a Class B driver’s license, valid license and vehicle insurance, and a clean DMV record. Experience with the homeless population is listed; knowledge of veterans’ issues is a plus. Ability to lift or push at least 60 pounds is required.
