Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Syracuse, NY, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Compensation is $15.91–$24.06 per hour. The position provides administrative and clinical support to patients and providers in an orthopedic practice. The assistant supports patient visits from registration and rooming through checkout, working under provider supervision. By collecting information, assisting with preliminary tests and care, and helping patients understand treatment and discharge instructions, the role contributes to coordinated patient care.

What you'll do

• Greet patients and assist with registration, collection of patient information and medical history, documents, and electronic signatures.
• Prepare patients for exams by performing preliminary tests as needed and report relevant information to providers.
• Assist providers with patient care as requested and perform scribe duties as needed.
• Review treatment procedures and discharge instructions with patients.
• Assist with ordering tests and retrieving results.
• Measure and fit braces under licensed professional supervision.
• Collect payments and schedule follow-up appointments when required.
• Balance and close a journal when applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.

Why this role

High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification or science degree, 1–3 years of medical-setting experience, and CPR/BLS are preferred.
