What you'll do

• Read work orders and gather items
• move materials between receiving, production, storage, and designated areas
• sort and place products on racks, shelves, or in bins
• store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms
• fill requisitions and distribute items to production workers
• assemble customer orders and move them to packing or shipping
• may load products onto delivery trucks
• mark materials, record receipts and distributions, use a computer or scanner, prepare shipping packages, use dry ice or polar packs when necessary, and assist with inventory records. Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar machinery as needed and follow company procedures.
