The Director of Electrical Engineering is an onsite role in Burlington, MA. Compensation is $160,000–$200,000 per year. The director leads Viken Detection’s electrical engineering organization across its vehicle scanning, handheld imaging, analytical instrument, and next-generation inspection product lines. Viken Detection develops security imaging and material identification solutions used by law enforcement and safety inspection professionals. The role provides technical and people leadership for electrical architecture, product development, system integration, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance. It guides engineering work from concept through production release and helps deliver safe, reliable, and manufacturable inspection products.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop hardware, controls, and embedded electronics engineers
• own electrical system architecture across product lines
• guide development of X-ray generation, detector and acquisition electronics, motion control, power distribution, embedded controllers, safety circuits, and vehicle-platform integration
• lead design reviews and risk assessments
• ensure performance, reliability, cost, safety, and manufacturability
• oversee engineering milestones, validation, qualification, certification, supplier technical oversight, and reliability improvements
• represent electrical engineering with customers, partners, and regulators when required.
