The Surgical Technologist – Orthopedics role is onsite in Peoria, IL, full time on 10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Pay is $27.26–$38.48 per hour, with a $2.50-per-hour weekend differential and a $15,000 sign-on bonus tied to a two-year commitment. The Orthopedic Surgery department performs approximately 20–25 cases per day. The technologist serves in the scrub role for orthopedic procedures, preparing instruments and supplies, maintaining the sterile field, and supporting the surgical team through procedures and room turnover. The role contributes to safe, accurate care across routine and complex orthopedic cases and includes weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotations with a 30-minute response requirement.

What you'll do

• Function as scrub technologist during orthopedic procedures
• prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies
• maintain sterile field
• anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments
• complete instrument, sponge, needle, and sharps counts
• assist with positioning and preparation
• support room turnover
• collaborate with surgeons, RN circulators, and anesthesia providers
• use surgeon preference cards and Epic OpTime when required
• participate in call rotations and float to other specialties when needed.
