The Therapist role is onsite in Louisville, KY, at the Emergency House. Compensation is not specified. The therapist supports the mental health care and healing services provided to residents by Refuge for Women. The therapist delivers trauma-focused, victim-centered assessments and interventions for survivors of human trafficking or sexual exploitation. Individual and group therapy, crisis support, substance-use treatment, and coordinated treatment planning contribute to residents’ recovery and progress toward their goals.

What you'll do

• Provide trauma-focused, evidence-based services
• assist with risk assessment and safety planning
• provide substance-use interventions and ASAM level-of-care assessments
• offer supportive counseling and crisis intervention
• develop treatment plans and 30-day reviews with clients
• facilitate daily therapeutic support groups
• document assessments and progress in the electronic health record
• and coordinate referrals and advocacy when appropriate.

Why this role

This is explicitly an independent contractor position. Requires a master’s degree in a human services field, independent Kentucky licensure (LPC, LCSW, or LFMT), and two years of experience serving victims of severe trauma and two years of substance-use-disorder experience. LCADC is preferred.
