The Veterinary Assistant is an onsite, full-time role in Princeton, WV, paying $14–$18 per hour, commensurate with licensure and experience. Animal Care Center is a small-animal veterinary practice with a custom-built facility and experienced veterinarians. The assistant supports veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgery while caring for patients and communicating with clients. Accurate records, patient handling, and clinic upkeep help the team provide compassionate veterinary care and maintain smooth hospital operations.

What you'll do

• Provide professional care to patients and clients
• communicate with clients, doctors, and team members and route inquiries
• assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgery
• restrain animals using low-stress handling techniques
• administer medications, prepare vaccines, collect lab samples, and perform basic lab tests as directed
• enter treatment plans and maintain medical records
• educate clients on common vaccinations, medications, and treatment protocols
• enter charges and assist with checkout
• keep exam rooms and treatment areas clean and stocked.
