The Director of Retail Operations, Travel Centers role is field-based and onsite in Katy, TX, with frequent travel between field and vendor locations and no daily office requirement. Salary is $300,000–$350,000 per year. The role will build the foundations of jade owls operating LLC’s travel center retail business. The director owns commercial performance across the travel center portfolio, developing site leadership and operating systems while supporting new site openings and acquisitions. The work brings together staffing, supply chain, food and beverage, technology, compliance, and site operations to grow and integrate the business.

What you'll do

• Own P&L performance across travel center locations
• recruit, hire, and develop General Managers
• lead site managers and staff
• travel regularly between locations
• assist with construction build-out project management
• manage vendor, distributor, and franchise/brand relationships
• optimize fuel, merchandise, and food and beverage logistics and inventory
• partner with technology on the consumer app
• refine food and beverage programs
• lead operational due diligence and post-acquisition integration
• oversee site-level food safety, age-restricted sales, fuel and environmental requirements, and cash handling.
