Staff Accountant

Job overview

The Staff Accountant works onsite in Pittsburgh, PA, full time, with an annual salary of $50,000–$60,000. The role reports to and supports the Controller at Plantscape Inc. The accountant supports accurate and timely financial information through general ledger work, close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation. The role also helps maintain accounting documentation, support system transitions, and provide backup coverage for key departmental processes.

What you'll do

• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• prepare and post journal entries
• reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts
• maintain schedules and workpapers
• support fixed asset, lease, and inventory accounting
• prepare audit documentation
• support accounting system transitions
• cross-train as backup for accounts payable, payroll, billing, and other processes
• maintain accurate and confidential records
• participate in meetings and special projects.
