Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician, Temporary Faculty

The physician supports the Medical University of South Carolina’s Obstetrics and Gynecology service and provides consultation for referring physicians across South Carolina. The physician provides specialized care for high-risk obstetric patients through outpatient visits, ultrasound interpretation, inpatient care, and consultative services. The role also supports prenatal diagnosis, urgent obstetric protocols, and coordination with genetic counselors and referring hospitals.

What you'll do

• Provide on-site consultation two to four business days per week and interpret ultrasounds
• provide off-site teleconsultation as needed
• provide 24/7/365 on-call teleconsultation during remaining after-hours periods
• provide inpatient admission, discharge, and rounding on the obstetrics service
• perform appropriate MFM procedures, including traditional amniocentesis as needed during on-site coverage
• document consultations and services
• supervise genetic counselors
• participate in perinatal meetings and conferences.
