The Principal Electrical Manufacturing Engineer role is onsite in Los Angeles, CA. Base salary is $175,000–$200,000 per year, plus company equity. The role supports K2 Space’s manufacturing engineering organization as it develops and scales satellite platforms and electronics production. The principal engineer establishes manufacturable processes for spacecraft electronics, from early design reviews and prototypes through production scale-up. The role sets manufacturing standards, anticipates process and quality risks, and develops tools and methods that help the broader engineering team meet production needs.

What you'll do

• Lead design-for-excellence reviews across PCBs, PCBAs, machined components, and assemblies
• develop manufacturing systems for spacecraft electronics, including PCBA integration, wire harnessing, and electromechanical subassemblies
• set manufacturing policies and standards
• plan tooling and capacity
• pilot assembly methods and automation
• create tools, automation, processes, and MES software
• develop production flows and mentor engineers and technicians.
