What you'll do
- Assist with all procedures performed in the Interventional Suite.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all equipment within the Interventional Suite procedure room including but not limited to: Fluoroscopy, Pan Table, Med Rad injector, Monitors, Ultrasound Unit, Control panels for digital acquisition and image transfer.
- Demonstrate understanding of supplies used for specified procedure.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Renal, Neuro, Peripheral and Vascular anatomy.
- Demonstrate sterile technique as appropriate and maintain sterile field while performing scrub position.
- Prepare patient and room for exams while managing wires and other multiple components required for procedure.
- Perform role of circulator during procedure including: pull supplies, altering technique as phase of exam requires, man and operate injector, communicate to patient family/unit progress, and answer physician calls/pages during procedure.
- Provide patient care throughout procedure while explaining the procedure to patient and ensure understanding.
- Adhere to Standard Precautions or Isolation precaution appropriate for patient.
- Associate Degree or graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology Program (ARRT).
- 2-years Radiology Tech experience in an acute setting.
- 1-2 years’ experience as an Interventional Technologist.
- Licensed Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT) with the Texas Medical Board.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Primary certification in Radiography - ARRT (R) or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI).
- If ARRT (R), VI must be acquired with 12 months of hire or transfer to Specials.
- NIHSS within one month of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
