Senior Payroll Associate and Tax Specialist

The Senior Payroll Associate and Tax Specialist role is onsite in McLean, VA, with an annual salary range of $100,000 to $110,000. The position supports CBRE Government and Defense Services and its payroll tax compliance across all 50 states and multiple local jurisdictions. The specialist manages payroll processing and tax compliance, validates filings and deposits, reconciles accounts, and responds to tax agency inquiries. The role also supports audits, compliance surveys, and year-end reporting to help maintain accurate payroll operations and controls.

What you'll do

• Process payroll end to end
• ensure timely federal, state, and local payroll tax filings
• validate and reconcile tax deposits and filings prepared through UKG or other third-party systems
• maintain compliance with tax regulations, rates, and wage limits
• reconcile payroll tax accounts
• research discrepancies
• support SOX and other audits
• serve as contact for tax agencies and resolve notices
• complete BLS, Census, EEOC, and ACA reporting as required
• manage W-2, W-2C, and 1099 year-end filings.
