Job overview

The Project Manager, Electrical Substation Construction role is onsite in Fresno, CA, with travel throughout California required. Compensation is $120,000–$160,000 per year, with a performance bonus opportunity. Heavy Road & Rail works on electrical substations, battery energy storage, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and civil construction projects. The project manager leads utility and substation construction projects from award through closeout. The role coordinates field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineering teams while managing budgets, schedules, contracts, safety, quality, and customer relationships.

What you'll do

  • Manage multiple electrical substation and utility construction projects
  • oversee budgets, schedules, forecasting, and profitability
  • coordinate field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineering teams
  • lead planning and progress reviews
  • manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation
  • develop schedule recovery plans
  • support superintendents
  • ensure safety and quality standards
  • close out projects.
