The Grinder role is onsite in Fond du Lac, WI. Compensation is not specified. The position operates precision grinding machines to produce parts with close tolerances and specified finishes for Fives Group, an industrial engineering group that designs and supplies machines, process equipment, and production lines. The grinder sets up and adjusts machines, selects grinding methods and tooling, and checks finished work against drawings and specifications. Accurate machining and inspection support production quality and help resolve machining or assembly issues with engineering and production colleagues.

What you'll do

• Set up, adjust, and operate ID, OD, and surface grinders
• plan grinding sequences and select speeds, feeds, wheels, and holding devices
• position and secure workpieces
• monitor machine operation and adjust controls
• interpret drawings and tolerances
• use precision measuring instruments to check work
• report unusual conditions or defects
• maintain a clean work area
• provide training and technical support as required
• may operate straightening presses and manual lathes.
