Hourly Tutor, TRIO Student Support Services is an onsite role at Trinidad State College’s Alamosa campus in Alamosa, CO. Pay is $15.16 per hour. The tutor supports the college’s TRIO Student Support Services participants and its mission to provide quality educational experiences and promote lifelong learning. The role exists to help participants master course content, strengthen independent learning strategies, and build academic confidence. Through individualized and small-group instruction, progress tracking, and coordination with program staff, the tutor contributes to students’ academic progress and persistence.

What you'll do

• Conduct one-on-one and small-group tutoring in subjects such as Algebra, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, and English Composition
• help students develop time management, note-taking, critical-thinking, and exam-preparation skills
• maintain timely session and progress logs
• communicate with the TRIO SSS Director and Academic Advisors about progress and challenges
• attend required orientation, workshops, and staff meetings
• foster an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
