The Carpenter II – Scenic Fabrication & Installation role is onsite in Omaha, NE, with compensation of $22–$26 per hour. Heartland Scenic Studio builds custom exhibit components and interactive environments for museums, themed spaces, and performance venues. The carpenter fabricates and assembles scenic elements, completes finish work, and supports field installation. The work contributes to project craftsmanship, structural integrity, production schedules, and client experience.

What you'll do

• Fabricate, assemble, finish, and repair scenic and exhibit components from shop drawings
• produce non-CNC components and work with CNC-cut parts
• use materials including hardwoods, plywood, MDF, Sintra, HDPE, metal, laminate, and acrylic
• complete finish carpentry and integration tasks
• support on-site installation and prepare products for transport
• operate shop equipment as trained and certified
• maintain tools and work areas
• follow safety procedures and communicate production status. Travel of 5–15% is required.

Why this role

Level II performs full project scope with some oversight and reads drawings independently; production shop hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Central Time, with possible overtime.
