What you'll do

• Install and repair HVAC equipment, including basic maintenance, refrigerant additions, defective-part replacement, and new unit installation or construction
• diagnose system problems
• use blueprints and schematics to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment
• test systems and check for leaks and defects
• replace ceiling and ductwork
• maintain compressors and motors
• record repairs, work hours, and causes of system problems
• comply with refrigerant-handling requirements
• participate in the on-call rotation.
