Family Experience Leader

The Family Experience Leader is an onsite position in South Boston, VA, paying $12.77–$13.75 per hour. The YMCA of South Hampton Roads works to strengthen communities and create welcoming spaces where people can belong and grow. The leader provides safe, nurturing care and engaging experiences for children and families in drop-in child care and family programs. The role supports youth development by fostering confidence, creativity, friendships, and a sense of belonging while following YMCA safety and operating procedures.

What you'll do

• Welcome youth and families
• support daily activities and routines
• provide care in Stay & Play, Interactive Zone, and other drop-in services
• assist with family events, Parents Time Out, birthday parties, and holiday activities
• use materials and equipment to promote learning and development
• follow safety, check-in/check-out, and opening/closing procedures
• report unusual incidents
• and communicate YMCA programs and policies.
