Art Therapist — Hybrid, Full-Time

The Art Therapist role is hybrid in Mount Vernon, IL, with a salary range of $52,000–$80,000 per year. The full-time position combines telehealth and in-person care, with primary in-office hours Monday–Thursday, 11:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Specialized Forensic Unit PC provides psychological evaluations and evidence-based treatment for children, adults, and families. The therapist uses art-based and other appropriate creative approaches to help clients express themselves, develop coping skills, process emotions, and work toward individual goals. The role contributes to individualized mental health care through treatment planning, sessions, progress monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with the care team.

What you'll do

• Develop individualized art therapy treatment plans
• facilitate individual and group sessions
• use creative expression to support emotional regulation, communication, self-awareness, and healing
• incorporate other creative modalities when beneficial
• monitor progress and adjust approaches
• collaborate with mental health professionals, medical staff, caregivers, and other team members
• provide support to diverse populations as appropriate
• maintain timely clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards
• participate in case consultations and multidisciplinary collaboration
• stay current with art therapy and behavioral health practices.
