The director integrates spiritual care into residents’ overall care and community life. The role coordinates pastoral services, retreats, volunteer chaplains, and collaboration with nursing staff and community leadership to support the spiritual needs of the sisters.

What you'll do

• Ensure pastoral and spiritual care is available to sisters at Saint Mary’s Convent and serve as a resource to other convents
• visit residents and establish relationships
• maintain a list of spiritual directors and assist sisters in finding one when appropriate
• collaborate with nursing staff and care partners
• participate in care conferences and morning huddles
• orient staff to spiritual care
• plan retreats
• coordinate pastoral visits and sacramental opportunities with the priest chaplain
• supervise volunteer chaplains
• maintain program feedback processes and budget
• assist with end-of-life wishes and funeral planning when requested.

Why this role

Schedule includes weekdays with periodic evenings and weekends. Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of pastoral or spiritual ministry experience; a master’s degree and Clinical Pastoral Education are preferred or CPE training may be pursued.
