Medical Assistant

Job overview

The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Chicago, IL. Pay is $18–$23 per hour. The assistant is part of PrimeCare Community Health’s care team and supports clinical providers and nursing staff. The role performs clinical support tasks before, during, and outside provider visits, including patient assessments, screenings, specimen collection, and documentation. The assistant helps maintain a safe, organized clinical environment and supports timely, professional patient care.

What you'll do

• Measure patient height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure
• perform screenings and assessments
• assist with procedures
• collect and test specimens
• administer and document immunizations and injections
• room patients and support the visit process
• document services in the EHR
• follow CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements
• maintain vaccine refrigeration logs
• answer phones, clean, stock, and organize work areas
• work one evening per week until 8 p.m. and one Saturday every four weeks.
