The Electrical Engineer — Protection & Controls, Substations, Power & Energy role is onsite in Denver, CO, with a pay range of $90,000–$150,000 per year. Atwell’s Power & Energy team designs and executes power generation and delivery systems, including renewable energy and high-voltage infrastructure. The engineer develops high-voltage system designs and project deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to support safe, standards-compliant power and renewable energy projects from kickoff through design completion.

What you'll do

• Design high-voltage systems for substations, transmission and distribution, and utility-scale renewables
• lead engineering tasks through design-package completion
• collaborate with civil, structural, SCADA, and protection and control engineers
• prepare diagrams, studies, specifications, reports, bills of materials, proposals, and client deliverables
• ensure compliance with industry standards
• support estimating, proposals, client communication, reviews, and quality assurance.
