KFI Engineers’ Utilities & Central Energy group works on central plants and district energy systems serving cities, universities, hospitals, and manufacturing campuses. The engineer develops electrical studies, designs, drawings, and other project deliverables for energy production and distribution projects. The role supports project execution through technical design, power system analysis, construction observation, commissioning support, and coordination with clients and other disciplines.

What you'll do

  • Design medium-voltage and 480-volt generation and distribution systems
  • design special electrical systems and prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • prepare single-line diagrams, plans, schedules, schematics, and details
  • perform power system studies using SKM PTW
  • review contractor submittals
  • conduct construction observation and provide field support during startup and commissioning
  • develop labor and cost estimates
  • create project plans and schedules
  • support proposals and prospective customer meetings
  • provide technical support to other departments.
