Afterschool STEM Instructor and Tutor — Grades K–8

Job overview

The Afterschool STEM Instructor and Tutor role is onsite in New York, NY, with instruction at a Manhattan learning center, students’ homes, and partner schools; some virtual instruction is also offered. Compensation is $25 per hour. Launch provides afterschool programs designed to build children’s interest in STEM and learning. The instructor teaches STEM enrichment and/or math tutoring individually, in small groups, and in classes. The role helps students build confidence and improve their learning experience through Launch curriculum and instructional methods.

• Deliver instruction using Launch methods, curriculum, and materials
• engage students
• help students build confidence
• assess and improve the classroom experience
• communicate with program coordinators
• teach STEM enrichment and/or tutor math in individual, small-group, or class settings.
