What you'll do

• Respond to emergencies involving residents or the unit
• communicate with families about care plans and changes in resident condition
• keep nursing leadership informed
• supervise or delegate orientation of RN, LPN, and NA trainees
• complete RN and LPN performance appraisals in collaboration with shift supervisors
• conduct nursing quality rounds
• educate staff and oversee implementation and review of policies and procedures
• handle unit supervisory duties
• mentor nurses
• establish unit standards of care
• review resident records and quality of care
• address resident and family questions or complaints
• ensure medical supplies are stocked
• and represent the unit to upper-level management.
