Asphalt Distributor / Tack Truck Driver

The Asphalt Distributor / Tack Truck Driver role is onsite in Columbia, SC. Compensation is $21 per hour. The driver supports paving operations by applying asphalt emulsions to road surfaces ahead of paving. The role operates and checks the distributor truck, controls material heating and spray application, and maintains equipment readiness. Consistent, safe application helps prepare road surfaces and keep the paving crew’s work moving on schedule.

What you'll do

• Drive and operate an asphalt distributor truck
• connect hoses and fill the pressure tank
• heat material and operate the auxiliary pump
• set spray bars and adjust height and flow
• monitor gauges and temperature
• perform daily safety checks and routine maintenance
• notify a supervisor when repairs are needed
• assist with related crew tasks.

Why this role
