The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Sevierville, TN, with compensation of $15.50–$17 per hour. American Family Care provides walk-in primary and urgent care services seven days a week, with onsite labs and in-house X-ray capability at its centers. The assistant supports licensed providers in an outpatient clinic by preparing patients, carrying out ordered tests and treatments, maintaining accurate records, and preparing exam rooms and equipment. The work helps the clinic deliver timely care for acute illnesses and injuries, workers’ compensation, and occupational medicine.

What you'll do

• Obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit
• prepare patients for physical exams
• explain prescribed procedures and treatments
• perform ordered tests
• administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved procedures
• draw blood and prepare laboratory samples
• perform lab quality controls and equipment maintenance
• respond to lab messages and callbacks
• document immunizations
• conduct referrals and pre-certifications as needed
• prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments and supplies
• maintain accurate documentation.
