Technical Specialist 2, Building and Industrial Control Systems

The Technical Specialist 2 role is onsite in Richmond, VA. Pay is $81,600–$102,000 per year. The role supports M.C. Dean’s work designing, building, operating, and maintaining mission-critical facilities and complex infrastructure. The role exists to provide advanced technical leadership for instrumentation and interconnected building, electrical power, supervisory control, and industrial control systems. It contributes to project success through system integration, configuration, testing, startup, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, and technical coordination.

What you'll do

• Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems
• configure TCP/IP and communication devices
• troubleshoot communication links
• configure Modbus gateways
• navigate EPMS and SCADA applications
• support breaker monitoring
• work with PLC applications
• prepare and review electrical sketches, commissioning plans, and data sheets
• perform calculations
• review supplier documentation
• support commissioning and testing
• manage startup progress and issue lists
• write startup scripts
• travel to customer sites as needed.
