What you'll do

• Provide procurement guidance and technical support to DPW staff and project managers
• develop and review contracts
• determine procurement methods and support solicitations
• manage formal solicitation processes with Purchasing staff
• supervise, mentor, and train two Contract Specialists
• advise staff on procurement policies and contract administration
• ensure compliance with applicable regulations and the Virginia Public Procurement Act
• review specifications and contract terms
• research vendors and conduct due diligence
• manage pre-bid and evaluation meetings as needed
• develop contract administration and reporting templates
• interpret procurement fundamentals and contract law.

Why this role
