Volunteer and Bereavement Coordinator

Job overview

The Volunteer and Bereavement Coordinator role is onsite in Hayward, CA, at $25 per hour. Affinity Hospice Care supports patients’ families and caregivers with bereavement services for up to one year after a patient’s death. The coordinator manages the hospice volunteer program and bereavement services, helping ensure volunteers are prepared and supervised while families, caregivers, and hospice staff can access grief support and community resources.

What you'll do

• Recruit, train, orient, supervise, and evaluate hospice volunteers
• assess patient and family needs for volunteer services and bereavement support
• coordinate grief counseling, support groups, follow-up services, and community referrals
• maintain volunteer and bereavement records and statistics
• develop and evaluate programs
• collaborate with hospice staff and attend interdisciplinary team meetings
• educate community members about services
• assist with budgeting and quality improvement.
