Field Technician — Construction Equipment

Job overview

The Field Technician role is onsite in Chester, VA, with compensation of $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience. The technician works at customer job sites and in the field, with a company service truck. The role diagnoses, repairs, and maintains construction and earthmoving equipment so it can return to service safely and efficiently. Repair planning, testing, documentation, and customer communication support reliable field service.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment and component systems
• develop repair plans covering work sequence, tooling, and parts
• perform mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical repairs
• conduct quality assurance testing
• complete service reports, parts orders, and work orders
• communicate repair progress and equipment status
• retrieve and return parts
• maintain and properly use the company service truck, tools, and fuel card
• follow safety procedures and keep the vehicle and work area organized.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, an associate degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record. Construction or heavy equipment repair experience is preferred.
