Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Operator

The Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Operator role is onsite in Houston, TX. Pay is $23–$27 per hour. The operator supports SeAH Steel USA’s pipe manufacturing operations by testing pipe material and ensuring safe, compliant inspection work. The role uses ultrasonic equipment to detect defects and determine whether pipe meets specifications, helping identify quality issues and ensure inspection results and material handling follow plant procedures.

What you'll do

• Operate in-line ultrasonic testing equipment
• report nonconformances and potential quality issues
• help resolve line quality problems
• perform daily prove-up on rejected material
• separate material requiring further evaluation
• monitor equipment indicators
• review work orders and specifications
• inspect for defects and discontinuities
• document test results
• determine whether pipe meets specifications
• and report discrepancies to the QC Auditor or Mill Supervisor.

Why this role

Requires Level 1 or Level 2 UT certification and training in ultrasonics and quality. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required; two years of quality control experience is preferred.
