The Job Cost Accountant — Construction role is onsite in Gilbert, AZ. Salary is $60,000–$75,000 per year. The accountant supports an established commercial general contractor in Phoenix’s East Valley and reports directly to the controller. The role owns project accounting through the full job life cycle, from setup to closeout. Accurate cost records, billing, reconciliations, and reporting help project managers and leadership monitor budgets, project performance, and financial results.

What you'll do

• Set up jobs in Sage 300 CRE with cost structures, budgets, and codes
• maintain job cost records
• administer subcontracts and compliance documents
• process project invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and purchase orders
• prepare monthly progress billings
• monitor budgets and variances with project managers
• support revenue recognition and WIP reporting
• reconcile project costs and subledger
• support period close
• manage project closeout
• prepare job cost reports
• assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and controller reporting.
