The engineer supports the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) through Horizon Industries’ IT and management consulting services. The role provides security engineering and Splunk Enterprise Security support to help identify threats and support incident responders. It analyzes security requirements and threat information, develops monitoring and detection content, and maintains the DLA Splunk Enterprise Log Management architecture.

What you'll do

• Analyze information security requirements and threat information from logs, intrusion detection systems, intelligence reports, vendor sites, and other sources.
• Create customized Splunk ES dashboards to elevate high-threat items for incident responders.
• Administer Splunk ES and its backend database infrastructure, including upgrades and daily maintenance.
• Develop ES rules, reports, dashboards, data monitors, active channels, trends, and use cases.
• Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and back up components of the DLA Splunk ELM architecture.
• Provide security engineering support for information-system planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration.
