Mold Maker — Precision Optical Tooling

The Mold Maker role is onsite in West Henrietta, NY, with compensation of $32–$37 per hour. The position supports Rochester Precision Optics’ Diamond Turning group and precision optical manufacturing. The role fabricates, repairs, and improves precision molds and tooling so production and development work can meet performance, quality, and production requirements. Collaboration with engineering, operations, quality, and molding personnel supports reliable tooling and process improvement.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain precision molds and tooling
• fabricate and fit mold components, inserts, fixtures, and tooling
• support mold changeovers, validation, and production startups
• interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• perform precision machining with manual mills, lathes, and grinders
• support diamond turning
• document tooling work and improvements
• mentor less experienced personnel.
