The Public Improvements Inspector I or II role is onsite in Saratoga Springs, UT, with a Monday–Thursday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and rotating Friday coverage; compensation is $27.81–$35.05 per hour. The position is in the City’s Public Works Department and reports to the Lead Inspector, with general supervision from the Assistant Public Works Director for Infrastructure. The inspector monitors city capital improvement and infrastructure projects for compliance with plans, specifications, permits, codes, and safety requirements. The role documents construction work, communicates with contractors and residents, and helps ensure public infrastructure is built to city standards.

What you'll do

• Inspect capital improvement and infrastructure projects for compliance
• prepare daily reports, as-builts, and force account logs
• measure and document work for contract payment
• verify construction methods
• review erosion control, runoff, and site safety
• respond to contractor, property owner, staff, and public inquiries
• issue stop orders or approve work as appropriate
• attend pre-construction meetings
• use GIS equipment to document city infrastructure
• review plans and document required changes.
